White Fillings

Composite Fillings

Here at Welling Corner Dental Practice in Kent, we place white composite fillings, otherwise known as white fillings when treating tooth decay, as this will be a good aesthetic dental option for restoring the tooth and retaining its natural appearance. This is done using a layering process of the composite material which is then light cured following each application, the result of which is a very strong restoration which looks and behaves like a normal tooth and is hard for anyone else to detect even when you are smiling or laughing.

No Mercury Fillings

White dental fillings contain no mercury. Unlike their amalgam counterpart which is silver/grey in colour, making them not only possibly unhealthy as an option but also easy to see! These silver fillings can cause trauma to the remaining tooth causing it to fracture. Generally people are far more aware of the health issues relating to mercury fillings and often ask to have their old amalgam fillings removed in preference for tooth coloured fillings instead.

Whether it's a new filling or to replace an existing filling, the material we use will be contoured to the tooth perfectly so you can bite and chew normally.
