Porcelain Veneers
What are dental veneers?
A veneer is a very fine layer or laminate of tooth coloured material which can be made from either porcelain, ceramic or composite material and is cemented to the front surface of the tooth. Veneers can be used to correct a wide range of dental problems and are used extensively when creating the ultimate 'smile makeover' or Hollywood smile. Very often dental veneers are likened to false nails as they are extremely fine and can be used to reshape, lengthen and change the colour of your existing teeth!
A dental veneer is ideal for correcting stains on teeth, gappy teeth, short teeth, crooked teeth or slightly broken teeth - in fact veneers are incredibly versatile and can correct numerous cosmetic dental issues which could be affecting your confidence and self-esteem. Porcelain veneers might be very thin but are extremely strong; they are highly resistant to staining, look extremely natural and can last for many years without needing to be replaced. It is important not to confuse these with composite veneers or direct veneers which are often a lot cheaper but will require replacement a lot sooner so they could end up costing you more in the long run. Composite veneers or direct veneers are an ideal solution for minor repairs to a chipped tooth and will help to preserve the remaining tooth structure.
We would like to thank all of our 'smiling faces' who appear on this website whose smiles have been transformed and cared for by Welling Corner Dental Practice.
